Description
A graduate in fashion design and textile design, Pascal Gautrand was trained to work within the textile-clothing sector and master the aspects of technique and creation. He also holds a post-diploma in management from the Institut Français de la Mode, with which he now collaborates as a teacher and consultant.
After ten years of professional practice, he was appointed in 2008 to be the first resident of the "fashion design" section at the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici. This residence took the form of several personal exhibitions – notably at the Villa Medici in Rome, at the French Cultural Center in Milan and at the Palais Galliera in Paris – which allowed him to legitimize his previous experiences and to deepen his research around the issue of local production (www.pascalgautrand.com).
In 2009, he founded Made in Town, a consulting platform dedicated to promoting know-how which revolves around an online magazine (www.made-in-town.com), and the regular production of videos made in various artisanal and industrial workshops.
